I know it's cliche to say, but I was proud to be an American for the first time since Bush took office. Getting up every hour from 3-6 am was worth it.
January 20th can't come fast enough.

We celebrated with a bottle of Korbel! (got a headache this AM). Obama is a President for YOUR GENERATION and I'm so happy for all of us and so proud of those both young and old(er) who worked to make this something all children will read about in their history books for generations to come.
Well I suppose if you have to be proud to be an American for the 1st time since President Bush got into office this would be it. Not the fact that 344 Fire Fighters and Police officers ran TOWARD a building just blown up by cowards to save people they didn't know, or the joining together of the nation to exact revenge, or the fact that we as a nation have not been attacked on our own soil since. No, I suppose getting up every day a free person, doing what you wish to do rather than what others want you to do is nothing to be proud of. Neither is there any reason to be proud of living in the only nation that is a becon that draws millions to it's shores clamering for freedom...hell I guess they can also go to ..hmmm..I don't know...the Ukraine.....Freedom isn't Free and Pride isn't just in a party......if anyone should know that...You should.
Let me rephrase... I am always proud to be an American. I'm just not always proud of our government, or the decisions they make.
